It's not Salman Khan who inspired Alizeh Agnihotri to become an actor!
Salman Khan's niece, Alizeh Agnihotri, marked her acting debut in Soumendra Padhi's 'Farrey,' earning praise from critics and audience alike. In an exclusive interview with News18, Alizeh revealed that her inspiration to pursue acting came after watching Imtiaz Ali's 'Highway' during a college fest.
Expressing her admiration for the evolving cinematic landscape in India, Alizeh embarked on acting workshops, fine-tuning her skills through auditions. The opportunity to work with National Award-winning director Soumendra Padhi in 'Farrey' intrigued her.
She described it as a unique debut experience akin to attending a "school of acting."
Produced by her parents, Atul and Alvira Agnihotri, 'Farrey' features an ensemble cast, including Prasanna Bisht, Zeyn Shaw, and Sahil Mehta. Despite her family's industry background, Alizeh emphasized that she's just one part of the film and expressed gratitude for choosing 'Farrey' as her debut.
Addressing potential perceptions of privilege, Alizeh clarified that SKF (Salman Khan Films) came on board as a presenter after the film was already made.
“For me, I am just a small part of this film with a lot of good actors. I am glad that I chose Farrey as my debut film. In fact, By the way, SKF (Salman Khan Films) is only the presenter of the movie. We had already made the film and SKF came on board to present it for us. During the shoot, it was never mentioned that it is an SKF film,” she explained.
She highlighted the supportive environment within her family, emphasizing the freedom they provide for her to make independent choices in her career.
“Right from my grandfather (Salim Khan) to my uncles (Salman, Arbaaz, Sohail Khan), everyone in the family has made it on their own and found their niche and I know they would want the same for me. We are very close and we all get along very well,” she was quoted saying.
