Tollywood actor Prabhas is one of the most sought after actors who rose to fame globally with the Baahubali series. Helmed by ace director from the South cine industry, SS Rajamouli, ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ still remains as the highest-grossing Indian film till date. Following that, Rajamouli once again scripted history with RRR.
While the director is scoring high with his projects, it seems, the lead actors in both the flicks have been cursed as their career graph is toppling after delivering the blockbusters.
Both the flicks under Baahubali franchise garnered much appreciation from movie lovers globally. Following the success, everyone was anticipating for the next project from Prabhas. However, his immediate project after the mammoth success, Saaho, bombed at the box office.
Reportedly, Rajamouli had shared some serious inputs for Saaho before its release. He had insisted Sujeeth and Prabhas to cut some sequences as the movie seemed to be lengthy, but the Saaho team ignored the suggestions and released the movie. Following that, the media was abuzz about the tiff between Prabhas and Rajamouli.
Even Prabhas’ latest release Radhe Shyam didn’t succeed to impress a set of audience. Though the makers claimed good returns, the movie didn’t stand long in theatres.
On the other hand, Rajamouli’s latest release RRR, starring Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn, went on to make history of being the biggest blockbuster of Indian cinema. Even after 50 days of its release, the movie continues to enthral the audience.
Meanwhile, Telugu action-drama ‘Acharya’, led by father-son duo Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan, directed by Koratala Siva, also starring Pooja Hegde, Sonu Sood and Jisshu Sengupta hit the theaters last month. But, the movie failed to impress the audience and is struggling to add on to the total collections.
Previously, Charan had teamed up with Rajamouli for Magadheera in 2019 and his immediate release in 2020 was Orange. Incidentally, Orange also became a box office disaster.
Earlier, Prabhas had worked with Rajamouli in 2005’s Chatrapathi and the next year he came up with Pournami which was an utter failure.
Even Ajay Devgn’s latest release Runway 34 failed at the box office which was his work after a brief role in RRR.
Linking all these instances, many have opined that Prabhas and Ram have been jinxed after working with Rajamouli. While some others suggest that it is Rajamouli’s curse that affects the career graph of the actors immediately after working with the ace director.
Now, all eyes are on Jr NTR, who will be seen in an untitled project to be helmed by Koratala Siva. Even movie buffs are eyeing Rajamouli’s next venture with Mahesh Babu. Probably, Jr NTR and Mahesh Babu could be lucky enough to break the age-old ‘curse’ of Rajamouli and proving such baseless notions wrong.
