Ghajini-fame Murugadoss Was Dropped as Director Midway

When the discussions for Beast started, Murguadoss was confirmed to be on the board as director. However, the budget was tight as the film was delayed due to a pandemic. Even Thalapathy Vijay who was earlier promised Rs 100 crore as remuneration decided to cut down his fees by 30%. The makers requested Murguadoss to cut down his fees as his last movie Darbar starring Rajinikanth did not do well at the box office. But the Ghajini-fame director refused and hence was replaced by Nelson Dilipkumar.

Pooja Hegde reportedly is taking Rs 3.5 crore as fees for Beast which is one of the highest amounts offered to any of the Southern actresses to date.

Beast was scheduled to release on Pongal in 2022. But due to production delays, the movie will now release in April 2022.
