Indian Idol 12: Rahul Vaidya Opens Up On Neha Kakkar And Current Controversy, Returning As Judge

Indian Idol 12 finale is coming closer but the controversies that triggered during this season continue to be a point of debate on the internet even now. For the first time, Rahul Vaidya who is currently more in news for his participation in Khatron Ke Khiladi 11 and his upcoming marriage to Disha Parmar on 16th July opened up about the controversy as well as whether he would love to return as a judge on the show where he was the finalist years ago.

Talking about the reaction of Amit Kumar to the makers asking the judges to praise the contestants, Rahul said that he does not consider anything wrong if the makers want the guests to appreciate and not criticize the contestants.

He added that everything on the show is done with the perspective of providing entertainment and that all the current singers are talented and singing well. Rahul opined that while shows like Indian Idol 12 are created to give a platform to the singers, but they also have an entertainment quotient attached to them and hence a big fuss should not be made if the makers ask a guest or judge to praise the contestants.

He believed that the romantic angle is also added for the sake of entertainment and fun and no one is asked to praise a contestant at gunpoint. According to Rahul Vaidya, when he was one of the contestants on Indian Idol 1, things were quite simple, even Neha Kakkar who is the current judge was one of the contestants in the second season and everyone sang their song and went back to their seats.

The contestants were given a very short time of 2 minutes and 30 seconds to perform.

When asked whether he would like to return as a judge on Indian Idol, Rahul Vaidya said that he would be glad to return as judge and that it would be a great journey from being a contestant to returning as a judge. Indian Idol 12 weekend episode of Saturday celebrated the power of women in Ladies Special and on Sunday, it will welcome legendary singer Asha Bhosale as the special guest.
