One of the biggest filmmakers in the country, Karan Johar broke down on the sets of Indian Idol 12 on Saturday hearing his mother Hiroo Johar speaking about him.
He said that he becomes vulnerable whenever he hears his mother Hiroo Johar speaks about him. It happened once again on Indian Idol 12’s last episode, which went air on Saturday night on Sony TV.
During the show, he was surprised when his mother’s recorded message for him was played and the director was overcome with emotions. His mother, Hiroo Johar narrated how the Koffee With Karan host, who is also an A-List Director, was shy as a kid.

She said, “I wanted to put him in a boarding school, but he returned home in three days.”
As per Hiroo’s statement, “One day, out of the blue, Karan told me that he wanted to join the film industry, I asked him what would you do there. He said that he wanted to be a director. And when I asked him why, when your father (Yash Johar) is a producer. He said 'Adi Chopra (Aditya Chopra) has asked me' to assist him.”
She further said that she was proud of his achievements as he has not only taken Dharma Productions to newer heights after his father’s demise but also provided platform for “filmmakers and stars”.
“I am fortunate that I got a husband like Yash Johar and a son like Karan. And that son has given me kids like Yash and Roohi. I couldn’t have asked for anything more,” an emotional Hiroo Johar added.
As the filmmaker wiped away his tears, judges and contestants gave him a standing ovation. Karan went on to reveal that whenever his mother speaks about him, all his emotions come out.
“The most beautiful moment of my life was when my kids Yash and Roohi were born. I found my parents in them, hence I named my daughter Roohi, a derivative of my mother’s name Hiroo and my son Yash after my father,” Karan added.
