Indian Idol 12’s Ashish Kulkarni repeatedly has shown his versatility and has left all the judges as well as celebrity guests impressed with his performances most of the time. But as he took the stage along with Shanmukha Priya during Sunday’s episode, little did anyone know that the Marathi singer will leave everyone spellbound with his composition as well.
Kumar Sanu and Anuradha Paudwal were the guests on the Indian Idol 12 weekend episode and were greatly impressed by the melodious singing of the reality show contestants. As a part of a tribute to these legendary singers, the contestants sang their songs from the 90’s.
When it was the turn of Ashish and Shanmukha Priya, the two sang the famous song of Kumar Sanu ‘Chori Chori Jab Nazare Mili” and the famous ‘Senorita” song from “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.” The way Ashish and Shanmukha made voice modulations and changes in the song impressed Kumar Sanu very much.
That is why he asked both the Indian Idol 12 contestants about the person who made such additions and changes in the original song. To this Shanmukha Priya said that the entire piece was composed by Ashish himself which left almost everyone from judges Anu Malik, Himesh Reshammiya to Sanu and Anuradha Paudwal astonished.
It was a welcome relief to see this episode move ahead without triggering any controversy as during Saturday’s episode Aditya Narayan, the host of the show took a dig at Amit Kumar asking Kumar Sanu whether he was paid for appreciating the contestants or not. As is known, Amit Kumar appeared in the episode dedicated to legendary singer Kishore Kumar and praised the contestants.
However, later on, he said that he was paid to praise the contestants and that he found the entire episode boring. Fans have already been slamming Indian Idol 12 and its contestants for poor singing and using drama for attracting high TRPs.
