A day after popular playback singer Humane Sagar was booked for rejecting musician Japani Rout’s request to sing Lord Jagannath bhajans and giving him death threats, Sagar on Saturday cleared his stands saying ‘I would love to sing Jagannath bhajans’.

Sagar shared a video on Facebook in which he expressed his utmost desire to render his voice for Jagannath bhajans. He said, “Jagannath is the Lord of Universe. I just cannot go against his will. I cannot dare to say no to sing Lord Jagannath’s bhajans."

"I have no such intention of not singing bhajans of Lord Jagannath. I can say my turn had not come. Whenever he wants me to sing,  no one can stop me from singing his bhajans. It’s a misconception that I am not interested to sing Jagannath’s bhajan. I really felt bad to hear this,” he added.

In the social media post, Sagar disclosed the name of bhajan for which he is going to render his voice. He will make his debut with ‘Dandabata Heli Mu Kalia Pakhare’.

Earlier, musician Japani Rout filed a complaint with Kharavel Nagar Police against Sagar. According to the complaint, Japani requested Sagar to sing a few bhajans for him. Sagar, on the other hand, had been rejecting Japani’s offer for the last five years.

Frustrated over Japani’s repeated requests, one of Humane Sagar’s acquaintances rang singer Tapu to vent out his anger and said he would kill Japani when he comes to Cuttack.
