Nitesh Kumar Sahoo

Prabhas-starrer Adipurush is in the headlines since its theatrical release. Earlier, following the teaser release, the makers were trolled for poor VFX and character presentation. And now, after the movie's release, several movie lovers have trolled the entire team of Adipurush for distorting the Indian Epic Ramayan.

While director Om Raut, writer Manoj Muntashir and actor Saif Ali Khan are on the receiving end of the public outrage.

Meanwhile, amid the public backlash, mounting rage, and ban calls for Adipurush, all eyes are now on Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious project Ramayan.

While the latest reports suggest that Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have been finalised for Lord Rama and Mata Sita’s characters respectively, the makers are yet to finalise the actor for playing Demon King Ravana’s character.

Earlier reports were abuzz that the makers were in talks with handsome hunk Hrithik Roshan for Ravana, but, Duggu denied the offer. Later, reports surfaced that the makers decided to rope in Yash for playing the Demon King’s character, however, the KGF actor also rejected the offer.

Well, the makers will soon come up with the complete list of their star cast for Ranbir Kapoor-led Ramayan. But, did you know, Hirthik had another offer for a movie based on Ramayan?

Yes, if reports are anything to go by, he got the offer for the lead character in the cinematic adaption of the Indian epic but he reportedly declined the offer.

While in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan he was offered the role of Ravan, he was considered for portraying the role of Lord Ram. It was none other than his former father-in-law Sanjay Khan who made the offer.

If the reports are anything to go by, the film was tentatively titled The Legend of Rama and he was supposed to play Lord Ram in the movie while his brother-in-law Zayed Khan could have been seen as Lakshman.

Earlier, during an interview with India Glitz, Zayed revealed his father’s planning for making The Legend of Rama. Further, Zayed added that he (father) needed the perfect Lord Rama and he considered Hrithik as perfect for the role.

Zayed was quoted as saying, “"Earlier, Hrithik had no dates. But now he’s doing very selected films.”

Reportedly, Sanjay Khan had plans to make a modern version of Ramayan for which he was developing the script with Britain-based Indian writer Farrukh Dhondy. He also had plans to rope in Millennium star Amitabh Bachchan as King Dasrath and Jackie Shroff as Ravan.
However, the movie got shelved for unknown reasons.
