Hrithik Roshan and his 'failed' childhood love story

Hrithik Roshan turns 51 today. The Bollywood superstar has been the heartthrob of millions of girls across the globe ever since he made his debut with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai more than two decades ago. Apart from his fabulous acting and dancing, Hrithik Roshan is mostly admired among the fairer sex for his Greek God-like looks and stunning physique.

For any girl to have him as her partner or lover is nothing short of a dream come true. The dream did come true for Sussanne Khan , the daughter of film director, producer, and actor Sanjay Khan when she met Duggu for the first time. Their love story is like a fairy tale and many expected it to end like “and they lived happily thereafter.”

But that did not happen. The childhood love story that started with immense passion went astray in the middle and now the two have gone separate ways, living happier with their other partners.

Hrithik Roshan first met Sussanne in a typical Bollywood style

The two first met at a traffic signal. Both of them were driving their cars and halted parallel to each other at the signal. Hrithik just turned his head and saw how gorgeous Sussanne looked. He immediately felt attraction towards her and confided his feelings later on to his friend Kunal Kapoor. Eventually, it was Kunal who helped him meet Sussanne for the first time.

Surprisingly, Sussanne did not notice Duggu at the traffic signal but fell for him when she first saw Hrithik. At that time he was yet to become a superstar although he was all set to become an actor. The two dated for a few years eventually marrying. So when Hrithik Roshan made his debut in Bollywood he was a married man.

Although Hrithik is Hindu and Sussanne is a Muslim, the two neither had a Hindu wedding nor a Nikaah. They had a wonderful wedding in a unique style and took vows in front of their parents and family members in 2000. It was supposed to be a one of its kind love story that will stay eternal but that did not happen and Sussanne and Hrithik Roshan divorced 14 years later after having two children.

Today more than a decade later, Hrithik is dating Saba Azad and Sussanne has been going steady with Arslan Goni and both the exes have accepted their current partners happily. For the sake of children Hrithik and Sussanne can be seen enjoying a vacation together so that their sons can enjoy the feel of having a happy family.
