Hrithik Almost Said No

While ZNMD today enjoys the status of a cult classic, few know that Hrithik Roshan nearly turned it down. In a resurfaced Reddit clip from Preity Zinta’s chat show Up Close and Personal, Hrithik shared a little-known detail.

Hrithik recalled, “When Zoya came to my house, she had a very important condition and the condition was that she wanted Sussanne to be there.”

This request proved pivotal. In fact, the film’s opening credits even carry a thank-you note to Sussanne for her role in nudging him toward the project.

Sussanne’s Gentle Push

During the candid interview, Hrithik openly credited Sussanne’s influence. He admitted, “If she were not there during the narration, I probably would not have done the film.”

Hrithik further explained how her encouragement made all the difference.

Duggu said, “I loved the story. I said, this is a film that must be made. And Sussanne was there, you know, doing the nudge that, you know, you should do this and then I could not say no.”

Zoya had a condition of Sussanne to be present during the narration of ZNMD so that Hrithik doesn't reject the film.
