Lady Gaga to star in ‘Joker’ sequel

American singer-writer Lady Gaga has confirmed her casting in Joker 2 opposite actor Joaquin Phoenix.

Gaga took to her social media by posting a musical teaser to announce the news sending her fans into wild frenzy.

As per Variety, the upcoming sequel titled – ‘Joker – Folie a Deux’ will see Phoenix returning to the iconic role of Joker which won him the Oscar for magnificent performance in the 2019 instalment.

Meanwhile, details on Gaga’s character are still under wraps.

Variety reports that Joker – Folie a Deux will be released in theatres on October 4, 2024.

Todd Phillips’ original ‘Joker’ became a box office phenomenon in 2019 grossing over 1 USD billion worldwide to become the highest-grossing R-rated movie in history.

The movie went on to earn 11 academy award nominations including best picture and director. Phoenix won the Oscar.
