Kim and Khloe Kardashian graced Mumbai with their presence as they attended the opulent wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in July 2024. The grandiose celebration, highlighted in their reality show 'The Kardashians', left the sisters awestruck by its magnificence.
In a newly aired episode, Khloe shared her initial reaction to the wedding's excessive grandeur, noting the venue was 'overwhelmingly decorated'. Kim chimed in, describing 'millions of flowers hanging from the ceiling'. Khloe further elaborated, likening it to a 'sensory overload in the best way possible' and compared it to Disneyland's 'It’s a Small World'. One of the highlights was the bride, Radhika's entrance, which Khloe recounted as occurring on a peacock-shaped float adorned with precious stones. 'Real gold was painted on the float. Everything had diamonds. Even the cows were decorated with diamond cuffs,' she explained. The Ambani family performed a traditional prayer ritual for the cows during the ceremony, adding a cultural touch to the lavish affair.
Despite the grandeur, Khloe admired the Ambani family's commitment to philanthropy, demonstrated through charitable efforts leading up to the wedding. Kim acknowledged that she was not acquainted with the Ambanis prior but accepted the invitation through mutual friend Lorraine Schwartz, a jeweller to the Ambani family. 'I don't know the Ambanis personally, but we have mutual friends. Lorraine Schwartz invited us, saying they would love for us to attend,' said Kim.
Khloe highlighted the extravagance of their invitation, noting it weighed between 18 and 22 kilograms and featured music. 'It was so extravagant that we couldn't say no,' she added.
