Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Jawan have set new milestones in Bollywood. Be it the commercial aspect or the technical one, the movie has scored at all levels. Naturally, these movies have received nominations in all the categories in Filmfare 2024. Not surprisingly, even the world cinema has taken note of this high level of success of Jawan and Pathaan which has further elevated the popularity of Shah Rukh Khan abroad.
And now he is all set to make history as these two blockbusters have been nominated along with two Hollywood heavyweights- Keanu Reeves’ John Wick 4 and Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible-Dead Reckoning. Both Reeves and Cruise are big Hollywood stars with a huge legacy and fan following across the world.
Getting a place in the list where the movies of these two Hollywood heartthrobs are placed is undeniably a huge achievement. SRK has been nominated at the Vulture’s 2023 Annual Stunt Awards which is given to movies, actors, directors, and VFX designers for excellence in portraying unimaginable high-octane action scenes with remarkable efficacy.
Both Jawan and Pathaan have received nominations
Atlee-helmed Jawan has received nominations in three categories – Best Overall Action Film, Best Vehicular Stunt, and Best Stunt in Action Film. YRF’s Pathaan has received nominations in two categories- Best Overall Action Film and Best Aerial Stunt.
On the commercial front, both Pathaan and Jawan crossed the 1000 crore mark and brought back the audience to the theaters. After the Corona pandemic, the Bollywood industry was going through a tough period as people had stopped coming to the theaters preferring to watch content on television and OTT.
However, due credit should be given to SRK’s comeback movie Pathaan for bringing back the audience to the theaters. SRK had one of the best years of his career in 2023 with three movies Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki turning blockbusters thereby ending his dry spell of over 3 to 4 years.
