He said, "Even if Hera Pheri doesn't happen, I do not want those two friends to be bitter about each other. I don't want them to fall out.
Earlier, talking to ANI, Shetty said, "It cannot happen. 100 per cent cannot happen without Paresh Rawal. It can have a 1 per cent chance without me and Akshay, but 100% can’t happen without Paresh ji. No, it doesn’t. Raju and Shyam, if they’re not hammered by Babu here, it doesn’t work."
Akshay Kumar's production house 'Cape of Good Films LLP' released an official statement confirming that Paresh Rawal has been sued for Rs 25 crore. The statement also spoke about taking civil and criminal action against the veteran actor if he fails to comply with the demands of the production house within seven days.
The production house stated that the Hungama actor formalised his commitment to do the film by accepting Rs 11 lakhs as part of his remuneration. According to the statement, the Sanju actor also shot three-minute-long footage for the teaser of the film and also participated in creative discussions and planning with his co-stars, Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty.
The official statement further read, “It is only after these significant investments and scheduling commitments were made that Mr. Rawal abruptly attempted to exit the project, citing vague and belated creative differences.”
As the Welcome actor's 'sudden and unjustified withdrawal' has caused severe financial losses to the company and disrupted schedules, and jeopardised the momentum of the movie, the company demanded Rs 25 crore as damages.
Further, the team also mentioned that if the Ready actor fails to fulfil their demand within seven days, the production house will be constrained to pursue appropriate legal remedies, including civil and criminal action.
Moreover, the statement also mentions that the production house has the right to seek injunctive relief and hold the senior actor “personally liable for any harm caused to co-actors, the director, and third parties involved in the project due to his abrupt and unilateral withdrawal.”
While fans of the Hera Pheri franchise are concerned about the film's fate, Hera Pheri 3 has not been officially shelved yet. Well, it is too soon to tell whether Paresh will return to the franchise or another actor will replace him.
