News Highlights

  • Samantha Ruth Prabhu celebrates her birthday today.
  • Here's an overview of her career in the movies as well as the crisis she faced in her personal life.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu is now a pan India star. Post her hot item number from Pushpa: The Rise and her smashing performance in The Family Man 2, the actress is now extremely popular even among the Hindi speaking audience. But the ride has not been easy for the Tollywood diva, both at the career and personal level.

Starting off as a model during her graduation, Samantha got her first break in movies through Ye Maaya Chesave. She received a lot of awards for her debut movie which paved the way for an illustrious career for Sam in Telugu and Tamil movies. Over the last decade and more, she has worked in some big movies like Mahanati, Rangasthalam, A Aa, Mersal, Theri, Oh! Baby, Majili, Super Deluxe, and a lot more.

Apart from making a big impact on the Southern movies, Samantha also turned entrepreneur by investing in a few startups and starting her fashion label Saaki World. While her career has always managed to stay at the top despite a few hiccups, it’s her personal life that has been quite distressing for the beautiful actress.

She had a tumultuous relationship with the Rang De Basanti actor Siddharth and after a bitter breakup, she started dating Naga Chaitanya and married a couple of years later. Everything seemed well in their married life until they shocked everyone by announcing separation last year.

Slowly both have moved forward in their lives. The reason for their divorce is still not clear but it was heartening to see Samantha coming out of her shell and attempting her first item song successfully during this crisis period.

Her upcoming movie titled Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal with Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi looks promising. She has also wrapped up the shooting of Shankuntalam and will soon make her official debut in Hollywood and Bollywood.
