Taapsee Pannu
The twisted tale of Rani and Rishu is far from over. Following the success of Haseen Dillruba (2021) and its sequel Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba (2024), the much-loved Netflix thriller franchise is officially set to return for a third installment.
According to a report by Mid-day, the scripting process is currently underway, with the creative team promising an even more thrilling, seductive, and chaotic chapter in the saga.
Sources close to the production confirmed that Haseen Dillruba is one of the most successful titles on Netflix India, prompting the team to continue expanding its universe. “The aim is to create a more fun, juicy, and thrilling third part,” the insider revealed.
The buzz around the third installment began when lead actress Taapsee Pannu shared a nostalgic clip from Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba on social media with the caption: “Missing the pagalpan, Pandit ji.
What say?”—a nod to the film’s writer, Kanika Dhillon. Kanika’s teasing reply, “The wait won’t last that long, Rani ji! Panditji is already onto the agli kitaab. Iss wali mein there is Pagalpan x 3,” sent fans into a frenzy online.
Taapsee further engaged with audiences, writing: “Let’s ask the audience who gave us so much love… What twist are you expecting in the unexpected life of Rani this time?” The exchange confirmed not only the return of the franchise but the return of its signature madness.
While plot details remain tightly under wraps, the makers have hinted that the upcoming installment will raise the stakes in both drama and unpredictability. With its blend of romance, suspense, and dark humor, Haseen Dillruba has cemented itself as a staple of Netflix India’s thriller lineup.
Alongside the upcoming third film, Taapsee Pannu is also preparing for the release of Gandhari, directed by Devashish Makhija and produced by Kanika Dhillon. Co-starring Ishwak Singh, the film wrapped shooting in March and is expected to premiere on Netflix later this year.
