Samantha Ruth Prabhu is a self-made star. She made it in the Telugu film industry without much backing from any Godfather. Her marriage with Naga Chaitanya took her to a new height. But in the last few years especially after the divorce and post-Corona pandemic fans have seen both her health and career going downhill.

Her last few releases in Tollywood like Shaakuntalam and Kushi were flops and ever since then, she has not been much seen in regional movies.

The Family Man Season 2 introduced Samantha to Bollywood fans

Samantha Ruth Prabhu played the role of a terrorist in The Family Man Season 2 directed by Raj & DK and thus she was introduced to Bollywood fans. It was an OTT release and Sam’s work was liked and appreciated. Simultaneously, for the first time in her career, she decided to do a raunchy item number in Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise.

O Antava became a rage when Pushpa 1 was released and although Rashmika Mandanna was the lead heroine of the movie, it was Samantha Ruth Prabhu who initially garnered more attention and popularity for this song. This item number made her such a big name that Samantha said that people have forgotten her earlier work and now she is known more for this song.

This popularity also gained her a spot on Koffee with Karan alongside Akshay Kumar and fans believed that Samantha will be doing more Bollywood movies soon. But that did not happen.

While Samantha struggled with health issues and has only Citadel: Honey Bunny with Varun Dhawan as a Hindi release, Rashmika Mandanna who was a new star a few years ago now is delivering back-to-back hits in Bollywood with Animal and Chhaava.

What’s more even young star Sreeleela is all set to debut in Bollywood with Kartik Aaryan. So what is stopping a talented actress like Samantha Ruth Prabhu from getting good opportunities?

Health has put a brake on Samantha’s career

She has no project in hand apart from one with Raj & DK which has left fans wondering why Samantha Ruth Prabhu is not aggressively pursuing her career. She has been suffering from myositis for the last couple of years now and maybe that is why she does not want to commit for projects that will keep her engaged for long duration.
