As per reports, the lovey-dovey couple first met through a mutual friend and hit it off instantly. They soon started meeting and knowing each other, and soon fell in love. However, the star couple kept their relationship under wrap and away from the media glare.
However, designer Vikram Phadnis declared their love story to the world through a comment on Athiya Shetty’s Instagram post. Commenting on a post of Athiya Shetty, Vikram wrote, “You seem to be v hyper and excited these days??? Let’s go to KL??... Kuala Lumpur (sic).”
Later, the couple made it Insta official by sharing their first picture together in December 2019. The two called in the New Year in Thailand and later wished each other on their birthdays and commented on each other’s social media posts.
Even as the duo started posting adorable comments on each other’s Instagram posts, they never really spoke about their relationship in public. Athiya soon started accompanying Rahul on the Indian team’s overseas tours further confirming that he was the one for her.
The couple is now happily married and is each other’s support system. Athiya stood through thick and thin of KL Rahul when he was in his lowest form. He has now returned back to form and is doing wonders in the Men’s ODI Cricket World Cup 2023.
