Golden Globe Awards 2024: When and where to watch, know new nomination categories

The Golden Globe Awards 2024 are the first of many other popular award shows that will be held this year. Big celebrities like Taylor Swift, Ryan Gosling, Margot Robbie, and Angela Bassett will be joining Jo Koy, the host of the 81st Golden Globe Award.

Golden Globe Award 2024- When and where?

This year the Golden Globe Awards will be held in Los Angeles at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on January 7 at 8 pm ET. The award function will be telecast live on CBS just after the game between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles. It will stream live on Paramount + for three hours. Reportedly this time the organisers have added two new categories and also have additional nominees in 25 different categories.

Variety’s Marc Malkin and Angelique Jackson and ET’s Rachel Smith will host the official online pre-show. Viewers can expect interviews with most of the nominees including big stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Billie Eilish, and more. Popular performers like actress Michelle Yeoh and funnyman Will Ferrell will be presenting the awards. Also, there will be a leading man reunion of Suits stars when Patrick J. Adams and Gabriel Macht will share the stage.

Will co-star Meghan Markle join them? It seems less probable.

Categories and nominations

Wilmer Valderrama and Cedric the Entertainer announced the nominees in two new categories viz. Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy and Cinematic and Box-Office Achievement. Super hits and notable films of last year like Killers of the Flower Moon, Oppenheimer, May December, Poor Things, and The Color Purple have received nominations this year at Golden Globe Awards 2024.

Some of the hit seasoned television shows that have received nominations include Succession, Ted Lasso, and The Crown. Also, some new shows like The Six, Daisy Jones, Jury Duty, and Lessons in Chemistry have received recognition.

Indians can watch the Golden Globe Awards 2024 on Lionsgate Play from 6.30 am on January 8.
