Glow up and down of 2024: From Ash taking a strong stand to Kartik Aaryan, Triptii shining despite flops

The year 2024 was not very good for Bollywood. Although Pushpa 2 did manage to break records and continues to be the biggest draw at the box office even a fortnight from its release, this Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna is not a quintessential Bollywood film. On the other hand, the typical Bollywood movie Baby John featuring Varun Dhawan in the lead has been a huge disappointment.

Apart from movies, the personal ups and downs in the lives of many leading stars also caught a lot of attention as expected this year. And one thing that continued to grab the headlines for months together was the rumours about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan's separation.

Ash seems to have taken a strong stand.

The Bachchan family has always tried to maintain that all is well in their family. Despite Shweta Bachchan Nanda living away from her husband for years now, they have not taken a divorce. Similarly, there have been rumours for many years now that all is not well between Shweta and Jaya Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. The Bachchan girls are never seen together. But in 2024 Ash seems to have a strong stand and showed the world that she has a separate identity and is living on her own.

From coming to Ambani's wedding with only Aaradhya in tow to going on holidays only with her daughter, the beauty queen has clearly stepped out of the conservative Bachchan mindset and household. Even though Abhishek and Ash continue to make appearances together at a few public functions it is obvious that she does not live with the Bachchan family anymore.

Phenomenal year for Kartik Aaryan, Sharvari, and Triptii Dimri

Kartik Aaryan won accolades for his wonderful acting in Chandu Champion although the movie failed to become a big hit commercially. However, he made up for the same with the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Being pitted against Singham 3 which had big heroes like Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Akshay Kumar, and Arjun Kapoor, and actresses like Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor Khan, it was a big win for Kartik that his movie earned much more than this Rohit Shetty-directorial.

It was a bad year for Triptii Dimri commercially as both her movies Bad Newz and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala's Video flopped badly. But she continued to make waves and grabbed some big projects this year which promise better success in the years to come. Sharvari Wagh with the success of Munjya and her hot dance number was also one of the cynosures of the media limelight.

Other actors who constantly attracted attention were Shraddha Kapoor for Stree 2, Kunal Kemmu for Madgaon Express, Kriti Sanon for her performance in Crew, her relationship with Kabir Bahia and her hot looks, and Diljit Dosanjh for his work in Chamkila and his tour across India.

Rajkummar Rao was talk of the B-town after Stree 2 became a big hit but then the discussion was replaced by the fillers that he had.

Bad year for Parineeti, Siddhant Chaturvedi and others

Parineeti Chopra playing the victim card was the worst thing that backfired. Even her singing performance was looked down upon with the audience booing her right in front of her. Siddhant Chaturvedi’s career seems to be going nowhere as the actor has failed to impress in any way. Vikrant Massey who earned lots of love for 12th Fail lost his credibility with the PR fiasco in which he tried to garner sympathy by subtly hinting about retiring from acting and then stepping back on the same.

Akshay Kumar’s career continued to go downhill and most of the repo-girls-Janhvi, Ananya, and Sara Ali Khan failed to impress as usual.
