Friendship day is celebrated on the first Sunday of August every year. This day is dedicated to celebrating one of the purest and most special bonds in a person’s life. True friends are always there when you need them.

Developing and maintaining healthy friendships involves give-and-take. Sometimes you're the one giving support, and other times you're on the receiving end.  But a true friend never leaves you all alone in difficult times. We do remember those friendships and cherish those moments on Friendship Day.

Just like you and me, Ollywood celebrities are also celebrating the special day by wishing not just their friends but also their fans. On Friendship Day, Ollywood celebrities recall fond memories with OTV to mark the occasion.

The gorgeous Sivani Sangita, Ollywood’s bubbly heroine, says “My best friend is my sister Sohani Sital. Whenever I found myself all alone or tensed, she understood me even before I uttered a single word. She just looks at my face and understands everything. She is someone with whom I can share anything at any time and anywhere without any hesitation. Despite being younger than me, my sister has always been a guiding book without whom, taking a step ahead is tough. She is the one without whom doing shopping, having lunch or watching movies is incomplete. I feel totally incomplete without her.”

Sharing a funny anecdote, Sivani further says, “Sohani and I were cooking palak paneer and while grinding the cooked palak, the entire thing was spilt in the kitchen. Before the arrival of mother, we cleaned the whole kitchen clandestinely as if nothing had happened.”

For Jasmine Rath who is known for her mesmerizing performances in Odia tele soaps and music videos, her mother is her best friend forever (BFF). On Friendship Day, actors generally recall their best friends and post their pictures on their social media accounts. But Jasmine is exceptional. She refrains from posting friends’ pictures.

Calling her mom her best friend she says, “My relationship with my mother is one that every daughter envies. She is open, communicative, and always supportive. There is no secret of my life that she does not know. She has been with me and is still with me since I took birth. She never makes me face any questions. If anyone attacks me, she retaliates like a tigress. I never miss my friend because she is my BFF who is my support system and everything.”

Chocolate boy of Odia filmdom Swaraj Barik says “Sourabh, Subhendu, Tanmay and Rajesh are his best friends forever. The phrase ‘A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed’ describes the most important characteristic of a true friend and this adage suits my friends. They are certainly precious assets of my life. One funny yet serious moment I would like to share in this case. When I was pursuing Plus II second year we had fun in our classroom when my pant got ripped off in the classroom and almost everyone in the classroom got to know about it. When the lecture ended, my friends Sourabh, Subhendu and Tanmay made scarfs by joining their handkerchiefs. I covered it around me. They made a cauldron and helped me to the place where I parked my bike. Sourabh even accompanied me to my house on that day. They literally saved me from embarrassment. And Rajesh always helped me in academics. I cannot forget him."

Sheetal Mishra, who is busy giving hit after hit movies, says, “ Pooja and Prapti are my all-time friends. We are together since our school days. Our friendship is genuine. We are into different streams now. But when we meet we don’t fake. Besides, they never support me whenever I am wrong. Meeting them after a long time is like a therapy for me. Besides, my mother is my best friend. My mother has always kept me grounded and given her a reality check whenever necessary. My mother has been the biggest support system in my life. She is such a friend, besides telling positive things, is not afraid to explain my shortcomings.”
