‘First call I did to was Salman' - Remo D'Souza's wife reveals traumatic phase when Race 3 director had an heart attack - Watch

Remo D’Souza faced one of the worst times in his life when he was hit by a health crisis. Recently both Remo and his wife Lizelle opened up about those difficult days and how Salman Khan and others stood by them during the tough times on a Bharti Singh and Harsh podcast.

The heart attack happened when Punit Pathak, a regular judge on Remo’s dance reality show was getting married. Both Remo and Lizelle were training under a trainer at home. After completing training when Lizelle went away to talk to her friend. When she came back she saw Remo sitting down. When asked, Remo said that he was feeling that something had stuck in his chest and he was not feeling like training. He laid down on his back on the floor and then on his chest but the feeling did not go away.

So the two decided to go upstairs. Remo could not even stand properly in the lift while going up and by the time he reached his apartment, he was feeling restless and had a puking-like feeling. That is when Lizelle put her i-watch on his wrist and checked his ECG which came out to be very bad. The two were rushed to the hospital. When the doctor checked Remo for the first time he hit the emergency button and while Lizelle was talking on her phone the doctor called her and told her that it was a heart attack. Suddenly she felt very small and that was when the first call she made was to Salman Khan.

Salman Khan said ‘I have told them, think it is me’

Lizelle said, “The first call I did to Salman Khan. He was on the other call. And I messaged him. I am in Kokila and Remo’s got a heart attack. And that time even Varun Dhawan called. VD was having COVID at that time. He said no it must be this and that.” While Varun was talking with the doctor on the phone, Salman Khan called up.

Lizelle said, “By that time I was just crying. And touchwood to that person Salman Bhai. He is a Godsend or whatever. Even sometimes I think it is not about someone being there financially or whatever, it is just being there. You suddenly feel you are very small and you need someone you can trust. Listen I might make a wrong decision but this person will not make a wrong decision.”

She added, “He just said Lizelle relax, relax because he understood that I had become hyper. And that in two minutes doctors will be there.” Immediately all doctors were there, a few politicians were there and Salman Khan was constantly on the phone with the doctors.

Lizelle shared, “I remember him telling me that I have told them that think it is me. And do not hesitate at anything. And throughout his surgery, (Remo’s) bhai was on and off with me on the phone because they said it would take 20 minutes but it took them 45 minutes and I was so scared.”
