News Highlights

  • Anupamaa is back at the top spot in TRP ranking.
  • Big reality shows like TKSS, India's Best Dancer 2 fail to reach top 5.

The TRP report of last week is out and once again it has been proved that the family dramas and soap operas are ruling the roost of Indian television whereas the reality shows have failed to reach the top 5. Anupamma has been in the top position for weeks together before it lost its position. But now this Rupali Ganguly, Sudhanshu Pandey, Madalsa Sharma, and Anuj Kapadia-led serial is back at the top position.

The sensational chemistry between Anu and Anuj has managed to bring back the old glory for Anupamaa. On the other hand, the other two serials, Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin and Udaariyaan have been doing very well consistently and currently are at the second spot. They have shared the second position last week with their engaging plots, lots of drama, twists, and turns.

Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin has received maximum tweets for any show on Indian television which confirms that it is a very popular serial. On the 4th and 5th spot are Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Yeh Hai Chahatein respectively. The entry of Harshad Chopda seems to have worked wonderfully well for Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and has brought back the famous serial in the top 5.

What is surprising is that none of the big reality shows like The Kapil Sharma Show, India’s Best Dancer 2, or Zee Sa Re Ga Ma Pa has been able to reach the top 5 which indicates that the audience continues to prefer their family dramas instead of reality shows.

Moreover, all these reality shows including TKSS have lost their surprise and special factors which is the core reason why people watch reality shows. While Kapil Sharma’s show, reactions, comedy, and content of actors on it has become quite monotonous and predictable, there are so many dancing shows on television as of now that dance lover are divided over what to watch.
