Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently resumed work after a long break with a health podcast. The actress in her first health podcast shared insights into her auto-immune condition, myositis, and recalled her separation from Naga Chaitanya. Even though Samantha did not name her former husband Chay, she said that the year before myositis was “extremely difficult”.

Samantha reminisced about a moment where she thought she could feel relief and calmness. However, fate took a turn as she was diagnosed with myositis.

“I remember specifically the year before I had this problem, it was an extremely difficult year for me. I specifically remember the day that I think my friend/partner/manager Himank, and I were traveling back from Mumbai. And this was in June of the year before last, and I remember telling him that finally, I feel calm. I haven’t felt a little relaxed and a little calm in a very, very long time. And I finally feel like I can breathe and I can go to sleep, and I can now wake up and focus on my work and be the best that I can be at work. And I woke up with this condition,” Samantha said.

The actress emphasised the lifelong nature of autoimmune conditions and the motivation behind her podcast, urging people to prioritise their health.

“The reason I wanted to do this podcast was because after the experience, the harrowing experience that I’ve been through and well, an autoimmune condition is lifelong, so with what I’m dealing with right now as well, I’d rather people be safe than sorry,” she added.

Notably, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya tied the knot in 2017 after dating for a few years. However, the two announced their separation in October 2021, much to the utter shock of their fans and well-wishers. Back then, they had issued a statement asking fans and followers for privacy as they ‘move on’.

On the work front, Samantha was last seen in Kushi alongside Vijay Deverakonda. Samantha will be next seen in the Indian version of Citadel opposite Varun Dhawan which is helmed by Raj and DK.
