DYK what Kareena Kapoor loved most about dating ex-BF Shahid Kapoor?
Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor were once one of Bollywood’s most adored couples. Their chemistry was admired by fans both on-screen and off it. Though the duo eventually parted ways, a throwback interview has resurfaced where Kareena fondly reflected on her relationship with Shahid.
In an old conversation with Cosmopolitan, Kareena revealed that the best part of dating Shahid was the freedom to be her true self. She shared that she cherished the 'normal' moments they spent together, saying, “I get to be normal and do normal things.”
She also admitted that in the early phase of their relationship, they kept things private due to demanding work schedules. Interestingly, despite Shahid’s love for bikes, Kareena confessed she never rode with him, owing to her fear of speed and heights.
The duo’s on-screen magic reached its peak with Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met (2007), a film still regarded as one of Bollywood’s most iconic love stories. Ironically, the year the film released was also when Kareena and Shahid ended their relationship.
They later reunited for Milenge Milenge (2010), an adaptation of Serendipity, but the film failed to recreate their earlier charm. Years later, they appeared in Udta Punjab (2016), though without sharing screen space directly.
Post-breakup, both actors found happiness in their personal lives. Kareena married Saif Ali Khan in 2012 and is now a mother of two. Shahid tied the knot with Mira Rajput in 2015 and shares two children with her.
Though they moved on, nostalgic interviews like this remind fans why Kareena and Shahid continue to be remembered as one of Bollywood’s most talked-about former couples.
