Samantha Ruth Prabhu
Samantha Ruth Prabhu has been facing a lot of backlash for promoting health products that are not so healthy by health experts. Many medical experts have called her out for advising the use of certain products that are dangerous for life. Grammy Award winner Ricky Kej called her actions irresponsible.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu had advised hydrogen peroxide nebulization for treating viral infections. Talking about the same, the famous music composer said, “A medical procedure was being advocated by a celebrity with tremendous influence. It was going into dangerous territory because this particular medical treatment could also be life-threatening. It was quite irresponsible (on her part), simply because she is talking about something life-threatening.”
He had also said that there are people who are looking for alternative therapies but it is important that,"regulations be executed very strongly so that celebrities refrain from endorsing any kind of medical procedure.”
Samantha Ruth Prabhu came out with an apology after huge criticism from Ricky Vej, health experts, and social media users, and even defended her initial stand which also did not go down well with Vej and others. And now yet again the Kushi actress has shared a post titled, “8 natural boosters for your collagen levels” by Dr. Mercola.
Netizens once again have questioned the Tollywood actress for uploading such a post promoting a health and wellness brand. A user has asked, “Damn do they not research before posting? If I had millions of followers I would think/ review 10000000 times before posting anything..”
Another user has advised Samantha to check Wikipedia on Dr. Mercola saying, “Go check his Wikipedia - Joseph Mercola. See how many FDA warnings and controversies he’s involved in.” Even fans of Samantha Ruth Prabhu are wondering, “Why is she promoting all this instead of doing movies? At this point, she should just use her cuteness and act or if she doesn’t want that and is interested in healthcare, please go get a degree in that instead of promoting all these unnecessarily.”
