Disha Salian's case takes new turn; Will it revive Sushant Singh Rajput's death probe?

Disha Salian’s case seems to be getting a revival after the Special Investigation Team from Mumbai summoned BJP MLA Nitesh Rane to appear before them. The young girl who worked as the manager of Sushant Singh Rajput died in early June 2020 just days before SSR was found hanging in his Mumbai flat. The police had booked her case under death due to accident but Rane had claimed that she did not die of accident but was rather murdered.

Disha Salian fell from her apartment balcony in Mumbai and was later declared dead. While her parents have said that they are not interested in probing the matter further and have accepted that Disha’s death was due to an accident, Rane and a few others have always claimed that she was murdered. He was one of the few politicians who always wanted the case to be investigated properly.

Talking to PTI, Nitesh Rane said, “I have just received the summons and I have been saying this since day one that this is a case of murder. I am ready to cooperate with the Mumbai Police. The MVA government wanted to do a cover-up & save Aditya Thackeray and his other friends...Whatever information I have, I am ready to give it to the police.”

According to police information, Rane will appear at the Malvani Police Station where he will be questioned about his claim and even asked to share any evidence that can support or establish the authenticity of his claims.

Earlier talking to the media Rane had said, “No matter who is the accused, strict action will be taken. It is not an MVA government, where the son of CM was accused in the murder case of Sushant Singh Rajput and Disha Salian and he was saved. It is the Mahayuti government, action will be taken.”

Disha handled the account of Sushant Singh Rajput for a brief period. Since the two died within a gap of just a few days, fans of SSR have always been rooting for justice calling these deaths as murders and interconnected.

If the police do stumble upon any authentic evidence that points out any malice in the Disha Salian case then it might give a boost to the investigation of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case which currently is under the CBI.
