Diljit Dosanjh exits No Entry 2

Diljit Dosanjh has officially stepped away from the long-awaited comedy No Entry 2, the Anees Bazmee-directed sequel produced by Boney Kapoor. Producer Kapoor confirmed the split described as amicable, saying the parties 'parted in good spirits'. Media reports point to irreconcilable scheduling conflicts- notably Diljit’s packed performance calendar and tour commitments- as the primary reason for his exit.

Scheduling Clash?

Sources close to the production say dates for the shoot overlapped with the singer-actor’s international tour, and despite efforts to rejig schedules, a workable plan could not be reached. Trade outlets and entertainment portals similarly attribute the departure to timetable clashes rather than creative differences. The makers are reported to be searching for a replacement as pre-production gets pushed back.

Backlash and Boycott Demands After Pahalgam Attack

Notably, Diljit has faced controversy in recent months over the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3. In the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, several film bodies and activist groups demanded a boycott of projects involving cross-border collaborations; calls intensified for Diljit to be removed from certain projects, including Border 2. The row prompted public debate and even political statements; Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann publicly defended Diljit, noting Sardaar Ji 3 was shot before the attack.

Where This Leaves the Sequel!

For now, No Entry 2, which had been banking on a refreshed ensemble including Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor, faces another scheduling and casting hurdle. Producers insist the project remains on its slate, but Diljit’s departure underlines the fragile logistics of star-studded sequels in today’s crowded calendars.
