Diljit Dosanjh
Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh is making waves ahead of his much-anticipated MET Gala 2025 debut — not just for his fashion, but also for his signature humour.
The ‘Born To Shine’ artist took to social media to share a behind-the-scenes video filled with jokes, excitement, and glimpses of the preparations, giving fans an entertaining peek into his MET Gala journey.
In true Diljit style, he kicked off the video with a relatable fashion dilemma. With a deadpan tone and a straight face, he joked, "MET Gala, ki paiye fer?" (What should I wear then?), leaving fans in splits.
Despite reports that he will be wearing an outfit by designer Prabal Gurung, Diljit continued to act clueless, keeping the mystery (and humour) alive.
Adding his comedic twist, Diljit compared the MET Gala invite to traditional Indian wedding cards.
"I’ve received many wedding cards from relatives, but this one is special," he said while showing off the formal invitation. He even read out the names of hosts and guests with mock seriousness, making fans feel like part of the celebration.
In the video, he showed fans a gift package sent by the organizers — complete with champagne and fancy packaging. He quipped, "Thanks for the champagne, but there’s no one here to drink it, so it’s just melting away."
He also displayed the instruction card, which mentioned that the use of phones and recording devices inside the museum is strictly prohibited throughout the evening.
Diljit read aloud the event’s theme from the invitation: "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style. Monday, the Fifth of May, at half after five o’clock. Dress code: Tailored for you."
He didn’t miss the chance to joke about the "tailored" part either, hinting again that he still didn’t know what to wear.
Despite all the jokes, Diljit ended the video on a warm note, thanking the organizers for their hospitality and attention to detail.
"They’ve really taken good care of us," he said sincerely, adding a heartfelt touch to an otherwise hilarious video.
