Vicky who rose to prominence with his exceptional acting skills was once arrested by the police. Vicky, who started his career as an assistant director in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ ended up in jail during the movie’s production.

Speaking to Kapil Sharma, Anurag Kashyap revealed, “During Wasseypur, Vicky Kaushal went to jail once… We would shoot without permission, and once we were shooting the actual illegal sand mining that the mafia was conducting there. And Vicky got caught.”

However, he was later released after the film unit intervened and revealed that he was action director Sham Kaushal’s son.

Talking about Vicky journey to stardom, his career gained momentum after his notable performance as a Pakistani army officer in Alia Bhatt’s ‘Raazi’. He also played a pivotal role in Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Sanju’, playing Ranbir Kapoor’s best friend.

However, it was his portrayal of an army officer in Uri: The Surgical Strike that truly propelled him to stardom. The film was a huge commercial success and earned him widespread acclaim.
