'My wife is..' Did Abhishek Bachchan 'debunk' divorce rumours with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan?
Bollywood's star couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have been in the headlines following their divorce rumours. While the duo has remained tight-lipped, a recent statement by Junior AB seems to be a subtle hint that everything is perfect between them. And, it also seems that the King actor debunked the divorce rumours.
During a recent chat with CNBC-TV 18, Abhishek opened up on comparing with his father Amitabh Bachchan and wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The Paa actor said that comparing him to his father means comparing him to the best.
Abhishek was quoted as saying, "If you are comparing me to the best, somewhere I believe that maybe I am worthy of being considered among these great names. I look at it like that."
Further, he added, "My parents are my parents, my family is my family, my wife is my wife, and I am immensely proud of them and their achievements and what they continue to do."
Moreover, just like his father (Big B) continues to inspire him even after all these years, Abhishek hopes to inspire his daughter Aaradhya Bachchan. The Ghoomer actor pointed out how his father is currently busy shooting for the new season of Kaun Banega Crorepati even at the age of 82, Abhishek hopes to learn this and wishes that when he is in his 80s, Aaradhya looks up to him as he looks up to Big B.
Notably, Abhishek has completed 25 years in the industry and he feels that a new phase is about to begin.
Talking about his family's contributions to his life, Abhishek said, “I am what I am today because of my family. I do what I do for my family, past, present and future. Their opinion matters the most to me. I’m immensely proud of my name, which was given to me by my grandfather. But I’m prouder of the surname he bestowed and blessed us with. I will work and do whatever I have to ensure the continuance of the love that we get because of my grandfather."
"I hope that my daughter (Aaradhya) and subsequent generations can respect that and have the same belief system," he added.
