Yash Raj Films (YRF)'s 'Dhoom' franchise is one of the most successful and talked-about. Recently, the buzz around its fourth instalment has intensified with various speculations. While some speculated Shah Rukh Khan or Salman Khan will replace Aamir Khan, some reports claimed that the makers are in talks with Tamil superstar Suriya to play the antagonist in the much-awaited flick. However, a recent report claims that not Suriya, Ranbir Kapoor is locked to play the lead in Dhoom 4. Moreover, reports claim that Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will be replaced.
For a couple of months, there have been varying speculations about Dhoom 4, the fourth instalment of Aditya Chopra's Dhoom franchise. Meanwhile, the speculations around the casting have picked up pace.

A recent report claimed that the makers are in discussions with Ranbir Kapoor for a while and the Brahmastra star has expressed his interest in coming on board after hearing the initial script. Reportedly, it is confirmed that RK will play the lead in the fourth instalment and Aditya believes that he is the perfect choice to carry forward the legacy of the Dhoom series.
If the reports are anything to go by, Dhoom 4 has officially entered the pre-production stage under the supervision of Aditya Chopra. According to a source, Dhoom is close to Aditya's heart and he has decided to reboot it, adapting it to modern times.
The report states that Aditya has developed the script with Vijay Krishna Acharya and the duo are working on the script with a vision of delivering a groundbreaking cinematic experience.

However, the report also claims that no OG actors from the Dhoom franchise will return to the fourth instalment. Abhishek and Uday will not be a part of Dhoom 4 as the makers aim to reboot the film in a true vision. Moreover, two actors from the younger generation are being considered to replace Abhishek and Uday, who will play the roles of the iconic cops.
Well, the team is moving forward with the casting process after finalising the core storyboard. Reportedly, YRF plans to begin shooting Dhoom 4 by late 2025 or early 2026 after RK wraps the shooting of Ramayana and Love and War.
