Deepika Padukone is 'indispensable' part of Kalki 2898 AD, reports of reducing or removing her role are untrue!

The official announcement of Bollywood Diva Deepika Padukone joining Allu Arjun for Atlee's magnum opus AA22xA6 has sent waves of excitement among fans. The Piku actor will likely be seen in a fierce warrior avatar. However, before the big announcement, reports were abuzz that after being removed from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit with Prabhas in the lead, the makers of Kalki 2898 AD had decided to reduce or remove her role from the sequel. Well, according to fresh updates, the reports of Deepika's removal from the Kalki 2898 AD sequel are untrue.

Deepika and Nag Ashwin's Kalki Franchise

Notably, Deepika Padukone played the role of SUM-80 aka Sumathi in Nag Ashwin's sci-fi dystopian Kalki 2898 AD. Also starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in key roles, the story of Kalki 2898 AD revolved around Sumathi, who is believed to be pregnant with Lord Vishnu's tenth avatar- Kalki. The first part of the Ashwin's Kalki franchise was left on a cliffhanger. And, the sequel is expected to delve more into Sumathi's life while Prabhas as Bhairava and Big B as the immortal Ashwatthama protect her from the evil Supreme Yaskin.

Deepika Indispensable Part of Kalki Sequel

According to the report by Bollywood Hungama, the circulating buzz is not true as Deepika is an indispensable part of Nag Ashwin's cinematic franchise.

A source revealed the portal that all such buzz began after Deepika's exit from Vanga's Spirit.

"As per inside reports, she had certain conditions with regard to the working hours. She was not ready to work endlessly as she wanted to spend quality time with her daughter. However, the reports of her being dropped by the makers of Kalki 2 are not at all true," the source was quoted as saying.

Furthermore, the source also added, "How can there be friction on the sets when the film has not even gone on floors? In fact, the shooting begins almost a year after now. Moreover, Deepika is an indispensable part of Kalki 2898 AD. The first part's story revolved around her and she has a crucial role in the sequel as well."

Another insider said to the portal that a narrative is being built that due to her 'unreasonable' demands, she is being dropped from films. The Instagram handle that started such rumour also stated that 'this could impact her career after back-to-back project losses.' Even though she lost Prabhas' Spirit, she bagged Allu Arjun and Atlee's AA22xA6. Moreover, she has also signed Shah Rukh Khan's King, and of course Kalki 2. How can an unprofessional actor bag such a big-ticket project?

Well, fans have to wait for official updates on the sequel to Kalki and Deepika's involvement in it.
