Actress Deepika Padukone has remained the talk of the town for a couple of months now. First, it was for the mammoth success of Kalki 2898 AD, next it was for welcoming her daughter, and now it is for Singham Again. In her action avatar, Deepika has made her entry in Rohit Shetty's Cop Universe. However, her role as daring cop Shakti Shetty has received mixed reactions. While some stated her performance as 'cringe,' others stated it to be overacting.

In a recent interview, eminent filmmaker SLB recalled his first meeting with Deepika. Bhansali said when he first time visited her home and she opened the door, he was taken aback by Deepika's beauty. Moreover, when she started talking, the filmmaker realised that her voice was also beautiful.

Bhansali and Deepika teamed up for three consecutive films Goliyon Ki Raasleela - Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat, and all the movies were successful at the box office.

Deepika Padukone made her Bollywood debut with Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om. Debuting opposite Shah Rukh Khan was certainly like a dream-come-true moment and a big break. Being an outsider she mesmerised moviegoers with her debut movie in 2007.

Earlier, during an interview with Komal Nahata, Farah recalled about launching the newcomer.

Farah reminisced that she came across Deepika in a commercial advertisement for a beverage brand. From the first look of Deepika, the Tees Maar Khan helmer was quite sure that she was destined to become an actress. Further, she said that as Deepika had a lot of resemblance with veteran actress Hema Malini, she approached her with a movie offer.

During the same conversation, Farah revealed that though Deepika perfectly fit the requirements of portraying the look of an actress from yesteryear, she lacked proper diction.

"Her diction was bad but when she did songs, her face would light up. She was very expressive with songs. Everything else was sync sound but her voice was dubbed. She was doing diction classes, but not very seriously. But she was doing dance class, diction class, Anupam Kher’s acting school. I enrolled her in everything. We were properly training her,” said Farah.

Farah further highlighted that despite all the training Deepika was put through, she wasn’t taking things seriously. 

Farah encountered difficulties with her diction during filming. Despite providing extensive training, her dialogue delivery remained subpar. This irked the filmmaker and she decided to dub Deepika's voice with another actress to ensure that the film's quality wasn't compromised.

Well, now Deepika has cemented her place in the industry with her acting prowess. In 2023, Deepika delivered two consecutive Rs 1000 crore blockbusters, i.e. Pathaan and Jawan. Kalki 2898 AD also entered the Rs 1000 crore club and Fighter also had a decent box office collection. With this, in just two years, Deepika achieved the milestone that other actresses can only dream of. She has become unparalleled and unbeatable with this rare feat which is certainly tough for any other actor to surpass soon.
