Veteran Bollywood celebs Govind and David Dhawan have patched up their age-old feud. The famous actor-director duo who once gave some biggest Bollywood hits like Coolie No. 1 and Raja Babu have finally decided to bury the hatchet that led to their split. The same was confirmed by the dancing star Govinda after he was spotted happily chatting with David Dhawan during a Diwali party.
However, Govinda said that they had patched up much before Diwali and that they were meeting each other for the second time at Ramesh Taurani’s Diwali bash. Talking to Bombay Times the yesteryear superstar said that he is happy that even today fans want them to work together in a movie.
Govinda said, “It was a Diwali bash where we ate good food and had a great time. We don’t believe in raking up the past. Why mull over it? That’s not necessary. Let bygones be bygones. Filmy talk wasn’t a priority. But when that happened, we only spoke about the happy memories and those were plenty.”
Now that is good news for Bollywood fans who loved their comedy movies that now have become a rarity. Today’s films are mostly about action films or modern-love stories and very rarely do you see an out-and-out comedy movie becoming a blockbuster. Of course, classic hits like Hera Pheri or Welcome have turned out to be a hit franchise, Govinda and David Dhawan movies were all about fabulous songs and dancing, actors acing perfect comic timing, and Govinda simply outshining everyone with his stupendous acting skills by dancing, comedy or action.
David Dhawan has passed on the legacy to his sons Varun and Rohit Dhawan and is sort of living a retired life. But who knows, now that he and Govinda are back to being friends he might come up with a story that gives justice to the talent of the Aankhen actor and helps him bounce back in Bollywood similar to what Gadar 2 did for Sunny Deol.
