Popular comedian Bharti Singh recently shared some shocking details about toxic work culture in the television industry. Speaking to actor Manoj Bajpayee and Prabhu Desai at her podcast, Bharti Singh revealed how television actors were made to work long hours on sets.

She also revealed how many actors would often faint and still shoot scenes while being on IV drips.

Commenting on the issue, her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa also shared how actors had to spend more than 15 hours on the sets and were deprived of proper sleep.

“I have seen directors and creatives suffer heart attacks and health issues due to sleep deprivation. People would drink tea, smoke, eat only set food, and suffer from acidity, but wouldn’t be able to control it,” he said.

Bharti added, “I’ve seen girls working with drips on daily soaps. They were not allowed to go home as the shot was not telecast by then.”

The couple added that the directors were only bothered about perfect shot and not about the actors going through ‘life and death situation’.

Comedians and TV show hosts Bharti and her husband Haarsh have been working on their podcast along with their TV commitments. Celebrities and well known personalities grace their podcast and discuss careers and personal lives in fun and candid manner.
