Television Serial CID which successfully ran on Sony Television for two decades went off air in 2018. The three prime characters of the serial ACP, Daya, and Abhijeet portrayed by Shivaji Satam, Dayanand Shetty, and Aditya Srivastava became household names with most of the kids who grew up in the last two decades having special memories of watching CID episodes at 10 pm every day.

Even today the old episodes are aired on Sony Pal every day and those who are nostalgic continue to watch them and enjoy the iconic serial. The good news is that the serial is all set to make a comeback on Indian television soon and the shooting for the same will start from November 2024.

The producers and the lead actor Dayanand Shetty dropped an interesting teaser on Instagram that shows both Daya and Abhijeet hurt with blood coming from their heads while ACP comes out of the car in a storm holding an umbrella. The post also promises that an interesting promo will drop on October 26. Now this indeed is big news for CID fans who have been missing not only these three actors but also others like Dr. Salunke, Tarika, Sachin, and so many others. Unfortunately, Dinesh Phadnis who played the lovable character of Inspector Freddy in CID is no more. He died last year and his comedy will be greatly missed.

The makers are yet to reveal whether they are adding new characters or a new format to the presentation of CID as it has been 6 years since the serial went off air. A lot of things have changed content-wise, especially after Corona pandemic and the onset of OTT . With so much content easily streaming online now the team of CID will have to experiment with something new to keep their audience hooked and make this comeback successful.
