Amid 'Boycott Bollywood' trend, when Yash asked fans not to mock or disrespect B-Town

Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty hogged the headlines after raising his voice against the social media trend of ‘Boycott Bollywood’ and urged Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to help placate the hatred against the Hindi film industry. 

Yogi Adityanath was on a two-day visit to Mumbai and met several biggies of the film industry including Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Subhash Ghai, Rajkumar Santoshi, Boney Kapoor, and Manmohan Shetty, to discuss shooting and investment prospects in Noida Film City. However, Shetty, fondly called ‘Anna’ didn’t miss the opportunity to put forth the grievances of the film industry. 

But, did you know, Yash being a Kannada actor had raised his voice against such trends and had urged his fans not to mock and disrespect Bollywood and the filmmakers? 

Yes, Rocking Star Yash, who gained global fame following the monstrous success of the KGF franchise, had urged his fans and movie lovers in Karnataka not to disrespect B Town and the moviemakers over their failures following back-to-back success of south movies.

“I don’t want the people of Karnataka to put any other industry down because we have faced that problem when everyone treated us like that. We have worked hard to get that respect,” Yash was quoted as saying.

Much before he grabbed the eyeballs of movie lovers in the Hindi belt, Yash has remained a celebrated actor with several blockbusters. Fans are not just crazy about Rocking Star’s movies or acting. Rather, he has reserved a place in the hearts of movie lovers for his down-to-earth nature, humble and polite attitude. 

Moreover, Yash has already revealed that he wished to take Kannada Film Industry to new heights. It was a promise he made to himself and he kept it. His words were proven true by the stellar success of KGF Chapter 1 and Chapter 2. The record-breaking performance of the second instalment of the KGF franchise helped it secure the second spot in the list of Indian movies with the highest gross collections globally. The box office collection and the watch time of teaser, trailer, and songs on YouTube shattered several records made by Hollywood movies.

Apart from that, Yash being a gentleman has also taken up a number of philanthropic efforts to improve the living conditions of villagers in the state. 

Though fans failed to celebrate Yash’s birthday with the actor this year, the enthusiasm seems not to be any less. Apart from social media, fans have been celebrating his birthday. Notably, a few days back, Yash had urged his fans to give him a specific gift f or his birthday as he remains out of town.
