Simplicity of execution shows the brilliance of a genius. Incredible dialogue delivery, versatility, shifting moods and most of all extreme dedication to bring out the best are some of the stuff quintessential to the screen legend Dilip Kumar.

Few have had the impact on the Indian cine industry, the way Dilip had during his spellbound six decades of career as an actor, produce and philanthropist. A record number of Filmfare awards to his name, Dadasaheb Phalke and even Nishan-e-Imtiaz, Pakistan's highest Civilian Award were among honours that proved Dilip Kumar's unmatched brilliance.

They say other actors would beg for roles to make a career but Dilip was so magnanimous that he would mostly reject them unless they touched his heart. With just 65 movies his entire career after the big break in Jwar Bhata in 1944 to Quila in 1998, almost every role that Dilip weaved became immortalized in the screen.

The veteran thespian breathed his last at the age of 98 while undergoing treatment after a long period of illness. Tributes flooded the social media with personalities from all sectors be it sports to politics and cine fraternity to the common man, have all come forward to pay the last tributes to the iconic actor.
