  • Priyanka and her husband Nick Jonas announced the arrival of a baby through surrogacy in their life.
  • Why are most Bollywood celebrities now preferring surrogacy for having children?

Nick and Priyanka Chopra Jonas have announced the birth of their child through surrogacy. Just a couple of months ago, it was yesteryear Bollywood diva Priety Zinta who announced that she and her husband became proud parents of twins through surrogacy.

Even Shilpa Shetty became a mother second time with surrogacy after having a son biologically with Raj Kundra. There are many Bollywood celebrities like Sunny Leone, Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan, Aamir and Kiran Rao, Karan Johar, Tusshar Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, and more who opted for surrogacy for becoming parents.

While there are many other Bollywood actresses like Anushka Sharma and Kareena Kapoor Khan who welcomed babies biologically, one wonders as to why the majority of the actresses who are at the top are choosing to have children through surrogacy.

Practically speaking, age is one of the major reasons that may have led them to take this step. For example, actresses like Preity Zinta, Shilpa Shetty, or even Gauri Khan were way past their prime age of motherhood when they decided to have their first or second child.

Most of these celebrities are in their forties which is a difficult age to carry a child. At such an age it is difficult to conceive a baby. But surrogacy has now made it possible for women to become a mother even though their body is not capable of bearing a child.

And that is one of the big reasons why Bollywood actresses like Priyanka Chopra Jonas or Sunny Leone who are close to their forties have decided to take the route of surrogacy. Of course, actresses like Priyanka or Shilpa are very busy with their work commitments but even then they would never compromise if it was possible for them to become mothers naturally.

It was Tusshar Kapoor who set the trend of surrogacy in Bollywood after he decided that he did not want to marry but would like to be a parent.

It was then followed by a lot many other celebrities including his sister Ekta and now surrogacy has become the expected go-to solution for these celebs who fail to have a baby naturally.
