Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana is one of the most anticipated movies that fans are eagerly waiting for. While the recent buzz of Ranbir Kapoor prepping to commence shooting in March and Sunny Deol coming on board as Lord Hanuman filled excitement among fans, the recent buzz will certainly elevate the anticipation for the movie.
As per the latest buzz, the team of Ramayana is in talks with Bobby Deol to essay the role of Kumbhkaran. Furthermore, reports are abuzz that the team is in advanced talks with actress Lara Dutta to play the part of Kaikeyi.
Pinkvilla quoted a close source to the development as saying, "Nitesh Tiwari wants to cast actors who are apt to play the characters belonging to the most timeless tale of Indian history."
Further, the source added, "He (Nitesh) feels Lara Dutta is perfect to play the part of princess Kaikeyi, the third consort of King Dasaratha."

Talking about roping in Bobby, the entertainment portal quoted a source saying, "Bobby is yet to get back to Nitesh Tiwari on Ramayana. He might or might not do the film and will take a call in the next 2 months.
However, the source said that the team is in advanced stages of discussions with Sunny Deol.
"Not just Nitesh Tiwari, even Ranbir Kapoor is keen to get Sunny Deol on board to play Lord Hanuman," said the source.
The source added that it's a legacy character that will be embodied in Indian history, as Sunny might become as iconic and synonymous with Lord Hanuman as Tara Singh was back in the day.
Well, there are no official statements backing the reports. However, it would be extremely exciting to see the Deol brothers, Sunny and Bobby, on screen after years.
Recently, Bobby made a thumping comeback with Animal and swayed movie lovers with his powerful performance. He won the hearts of many even though he had a limited screen presence in the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer. Moreover, his character portrayal in Ashram was highly lauded.
Earlier reports suggest Ramayana will be a three-part movie. While Ranbir will essay the role of Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi will be seen as Mata Sita and Yash will don the character of Demon King Ravana.
