Well, now, it is confirmed that the iconic trio will be seen together after 18 years.

A couple of days ago, reports were abuzz that Akki acquired the rights of Bhagam Bhag from Shemaroo. According to the report by Pinkvilla, a close source to the development revealed that Hera Pheri, Bhagam Bhag and Garam Masala are three of the most special movies for Akshay Kumar. The source revealed that after acquiring the rights, Akki has put the sequel in the writing stage with a set of fresh writers. Furthermore, the source added that the Sooryavanshi actor will collaborate with another producer for the sequel of the Priyadarshan-directed comic caper.

As per the latest reports, the rights for Bhagam Bhag 2 were recently acquired from Shemaroo Entertainment by Sarita Ashwin Varde of Roaring River Productions. She will be producing the film along with Shemaroo and has been simultaneously working on the film’s script.

Bollywood Hungama's report quoted Sarita as saying, "Because a special film like Bhagam Bhag deserves a sequel that’s just as much special; when the time was right, we decided to take the plunge.”

Hiren Gada, CEO of Shemaroo Entertainment expressed his excitement for partnering with Sarita, who has remained the creative force behind her husband Ashwin Varde.

"Because a special film like Bhagam Bhag deserves a sequel that’s just as much special; when the time was right, we decided to take the plunge," said Gadda.

If the reports are anything to go by, Bhagam Bhag 2 is set to go on the floors by mid of 2025. The makers aim to make the sequel 'madder, crazier and funnier' than its predecessor.

Well, fans can expect an official announcement from the makers soon.

Notably, 2006's Bhagam Bhag brought Akshay, Govinda and Paresh for the first time. The movie became a box-office success. The bone-tickling comedy caper helmed by Priyadarshan became iconic and over time became a cult classic. And now, the audience will once again get to see the iconic trio after 18 years in Bhagam Bhag 2.
