Superstar of Odia filmdom Babushan Mohanty, who will be seen in his next movie Daman, turned a Kaunria to mark the very first Somavar (Monday) of Shravan month today. That’s not all. He took a dip in the holy Bindu Sagar lake in Old Town in Bhubaneswar and performed puja at Lingaraj temple. You must be astonished to know the actor walked barefoot carrying the pitcher to perform rituals of Bol Bom Yatra.

Now, all of you must be thinking Babushan must be an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva which is why he turned Kuanria and walked barefoot from the lake to Lingaraj temple. He collected holy water from the lake to perform puja at the Shiva shrine.

Yes, he is a devotee but all he did today was for the promotion of his next movie Daman which is based on a true story.  Babushan along with the entire team of Daman including its producer Deependra Samal, directors Debiprasad Lenka and Vishal Mourya and actors Bobby Mishra and Pintu Nanda visited Bindusagar lake to take a holy dip. The actor was also joined by his fan club members, who were seen sporting Daman T-shirts.

Babushan is essaying the character of a doctor working in the Maoist-hit Malkangiri district of Odisha in the film.

The actor was quoted saying, “The subject touched my heart. The important thing about this project that attracted me is that it is about helping others. I could connect myself with the emotions involved in the story. The movie will bring in a revolution in Ollywood I feel. I am seeking everyone’s blessings and I hope my audience accepts me in this new avatar”.
