In the second week of this month, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Munmun Dutta who plays the role of Babita in the famous comedy serial was also booked for using casteist slur. She immediately issued an apology but a case was registered against her in Indore and Haryana.
In her apology, Munmun said, “Because of my language barrier, I was genuinely misinformed about the meaning of the word. Once I was made aware of its meaning I immediately took the part down. I have the utmost respect for every single person from every caste, creed, or gender and acknowledge their immense contribution to our society or nation.”
Yuvika Choudhary is yet to respond to this uproar against her on Twitter but is expected to soon come out with a statement.
