Who can forget Bhallaladeva, the fiery, ruthless villain of SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’, portrayed by Tollywood heartthrob Rana Daggubati? Considered one of the most iconic villains in the film industry, Rana made it classic with his performance.

However, did you know that he was not the original choice of SS Rajamouli? Yes, you read that right! Recently, Rana revealed that Aquaman actor Jason Momoa was the first choice for the epic action film. In the 73-minute-long documentary ‘Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli’ released by Netflix, Rana made some interesting revelations about the historic movie.

Similarly, Rana revealed, “The producer came and told me that it’s a period war-based kind of film and that they were looking at me playing the antagonist. I then asked him ‘Who’s the actor you went to before you came to me?’ He said, ‘We tried to reach Jason Momoa from Game of Thrones!’ I said, ‘Okay, that’s a good second number!’ Jason later also became famous for his role of Aquaman.”

While he did not reveal why Jason was not finalized, but Rana has given full justice to his role and will be remembered for ages. He was equally loved for his portrayal of the villainous Bhallaladeva and received a lot of love from movie lovers like Prabhas received as both Amarendra and Mahendra Baahubali.

This apart, the character of Kattappa portrayed by Tamil star Satyaraj, Sivagami Devi portrayed by Ramya Krishnan, Anushka Shetty as Devasena and Tamannaah as Avantika also received a lot of love from fans.
