Anushka Shetty vs Nayanthara at box office! ‘Miss Shetty, Mr Polishetty’ to clash with SRK’s Jawan

The excitement among cine lovers for Atlee’s upcoming action-thriller movie Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara and Vjiay Sethupathi, is skyrocketing with every passing day. However, it seems, Nayanthara will have a faceoff at the box office in the South. As per the latest reports, Anushka Shetty’s upcoming will hit the theatres on September 7 along with Jawan.

The release date of Anushka’s upcoming ‘Miss Shetty, Mr Polishetty’, also starring Naveen Polishetty has been officially announced. The filmmakers have confirmed the same with an official teaser. 

Sharing the teaser on social media, Anushka, who wooed movie lovers with her power-packed performance as Devasena in Prabhas-starrer Baahubali, wrote, “We are ready to butter you up on Janmashtami #MissShettyMrPolishetty on September 7th in theatres! #MSMPonSep7th”

The teaser shows Naveen Polishetty with an astrologer chasing for the release date. Later, he is also seen participating in the Dahi Handi event and making the announcement.

For the unversed, the movie was planned to release this month on August 4. However, it was postponed for certain pending post-production works. As the makers have finally confirmed the release date, it seems, the team is done with the pending works.

However, the makers of ‘Miss Shetty, Mr Polishetty’ are certainly taking a huge risk by finalizing the release date on September 7 as on the same day, SRK’s much-anticipated movie Jawan will hit the theaters.

Though Jawan is a Hindi-origin movie, it is helmed by a South director, and the cast includes established actors from the South industry. Even the movie will release in South-dubbed versions simultaneously. 

So, fans speculate that Nayanthara and Anushka will witness a clash at the box office in the South as both the actresses boast a loyal fandom.

However, it is also believed that Jawan’s release will not have any impact on Mahesh Babu P directorial as the Nayanthara-starrer is an action-thriller movie while the Anushka-starrer is in the rom-com genre. Well, the speculations will get clarity after both movies hit the theatres.
