Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor have been great buddies and the duo has worked in a few movies including Bombay Velvet, Ae Dil Hai Mushakil, and Sanju. Unfortunately, the first two movies did not perform well at the box office. Even then their videos and camaraderie during the promotions of these movies have revealed their easy chemistry and comfort level.
During one of the promotions for Bombay Velvet, Anushka Sharma shared how Ranbir Kapoor’s fans constantly disrupted shootings on the sets as they came to meet him, and since he did not have any bodyguard, it created a lot of problems.
The Jab Tak Hai Jaan actress revealed how one of her friends who was an assistant during the shooting of Rockstar shared with her all the issues that were caused because the lead star did not have a bodyguard.
While Ranbir said that you cannot live an open life being an actor, it is compensated by the fact that you get so much love from the people and that at times he likes to be anonymous and during those times he simply covers his nose.
Talking about the energies or vibes that are usually on the set when both of them are around, Ranbir said that Anushka is an anxiety queen and she has to pop pills to have a conversation because she gets frantic.
Obviously, the Sanju actor was pulling her leg to which Anushka replied, “How horrible.” Ranbir further said that Anushka has a medication problem, dental problem, and hygiene problem (as she did not shower regularly due to cold weather) but she is special.
When it was Anushka’s turn to pull Ranbir’s legs, the wife of the Indian cricketer said he does a bit of drug to feel upbeat because, otherwise, he is such a 'thakela' person.
She even said indirectly with signals that Ranbir has to take a couple of shots to which Ranbir Kapoor said, “ Do not spread such funny news.” In reply, Anuskha said, “ There is no news” indicating that she was just bullying Ranbir.
However, the Brahmastra actor accepted that he was made to drink alcohol by Anurag during one of the shootings because he had to cry for the scene and could not get it right. The interview was taken in 2015 and hence, everyone took it causally and Anushka’s statement was not given much importance.
But after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, things have changed a lot and such an interview might have been blown out of proportion.
Incidentally, some believe that the addiction thing might be true with Ranbir as during his session on Koffee With Karan Season 7 Arjun Kapoor indicated that Ranbir was going the Kapoor way when asked who is most likely to get highly drunk at a party.
