Television actor, Nitesh Pandey passed away at the age of 51 following a cardiac arrest on Tuesday. He was in Igatpuri in Mumbai at the time of his death.
He was playing the role of Dheeraj Kapoor in Star Plus' hit drama series Anupamaa.
According to an ETimes report, Nitesh Pandey died of a heart attack, which was confirmed by his brother-in-law and producer Siddharth Nagar.
He confirmed, "Yes you have heard it right. My brother-in-law is no more, my sister Arpita Pandey is in a state of shock. Nitesh's father has left for Igatpuri to get his mortal remains. They should be here by the afternoon. We have gone absolutely numb, I have not been able to even talk to Arpita after the tragedy."
"I am headed to Igatpuri as well, I am in the train right now. I was coming back from Delhi when I heard about this. Nitesh was much younger than me. He was a very lively person and I don't think he had a history of any heart ailment," he added.
Nitesh gained fame after playing the role of Shah Rukh Khan's manager in the hit movie Om Shanti Om. Other than that, he was seen in films like Hunterrr, Madaari, Dabangg 2, and Badhaai Do among other films.
He was also part of many popular TV shows like Astitva, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, Indiawali Maa and Pyar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyara Pyara.
