The cinematic storm created by Sandeep Reddy Vanga's ‘Animal’ continues to resonate, breaking box office records and dominating conversations. The star-studded ensemble featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Rashmika Mandanna has not only secured its place in theatres but also conquered the realm of OTT platforms, reigniting fervent discussions among fans.

Amid the buzz, the announcement of the sequel, titled ‘Animal Park,’ has sent waves of anticipation throughout the audience. While enthusiasts eagerly await the next chapter, a recent update suggests that the sequel's journey is about to embark on its initial phase.

As per the latest reports in Mid-Day, sources close to director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, ‘Animal Park’ is set to enter the writing stage in February. Currently, Vanga is immersed in preparations for his upcoming cop thriller, ‘Spirit,’ featuring Prabhas, scheduled for filming over the next few months. In tandem, his dedicated writing team is gearing up to craft the sequel's script, drawing inspiration from the plotline provided by the visionary director.

The sequel promises a deeper exploration of Ranvijay's character (played by Ranbir Kapoor), delving into his complex relationship with his son and the domestic conflicts with his wife, Geetanjali (Rashmika Mandanna). While Vanga orchestrates the filming of ‘Spirit’ in the coming months, the writing team led by Pranay Vanga, will actively craft the sequel's script.

“The idea is that while Sandeep shoots Spirit, he will take monthly updates on the script primarily being written by Pranay Vanga. He will actively work with the writers only in the second half of 2024,” states the insider, emphasizing the meticulous planning behind the sequel's creation.

In a recent conversation with Anubhav Singh Bassi for Netflix India, Ranbir Kapoor shed light on the clandestine nature of ‘Animal's’ production, with even Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor being kept in the dark about certain aspects of the story.

Regarding ‘Animal Park,’ Ranbir expressed enthusiasm, stating, "He (Vanga) has one or two scenes ready, which he narrated to me, and they are very exciting. Now, because of the success of part one, he has the confidence and courage to go even darker, deeper, and more complex. He can do anything."

Reportedly, Ranbir will begin shooting for Animal Park in 2023 following the completion of Ranbir Kapoor's commitments to two significant projects which are Nitesh Tiwari's ‘Ramayana’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ‘Love & War’ alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
