Ananya Panday is currently busy in promoting her upcoming film Liger and is riding high in her career as she has many projects in her kitty. And if the latest reports are to be believed, Ananya has bagged another biggie opposite Ayushmann Khurrana.

According to a PinkVilla report, the makers of Ayushmann's 2019 blockbuster 'Dream Girl', have zeroed on Ananya for the female lead in the movie's sequel.

Notably, the makers and director Raaj Shandilya, after the massive success of Dream Girl, had announced that a sequel will be made and go on floors later in 2022 with Ayushmann, but he hadn’t revealed anything about the female lead.

Reportedly, the makers wanted to cast a GenZ actress opposite Ayushmann Khurrana who is feisty and lively.

Earlier, there were rumours that telly diva and Bigg Boss 15 winner Tejasswi Prakash will be making her Bollywood debut with the movie while some reports also suggested Sara Ali Khan. But it seems Ananya has bagged the part.

A close source of production told PinkVilla, "The makers were in talks with Ananya Panday for Dream Girl 2. And as per our sources, makers of the film have zeroed down Ananya Panday opposite Ayushmann Khurrana."

However, there has been no official confirmation from Ananya Panday or her team. If the reports are anything to go by, the sequel will mark Ayushmann and Ananya’s first film together.

On the work front, Ananya Panday has Liger opposite south hunk Vijay Deverakonda which will hit screens on August 25. Helmed by Puri Jagannadh and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, Liger also stars Mike Tyson, Ronit Roy and Ramya Krishnan in key roles.
